DESCRIPTION

This rare instrument was manufactured by the German piano manufacturer Ernst Irmler & Sons in 1850. The firm enjoyed a stellar reputation, and their instruments were highly celebrated as being some of the finest produced in Europe. The Irmler Piano Company continued to build higher quality, expensive pianos in Leipzig until going out of business in the 1950s. The firm's dedication to quality craftsmanship and artistry are manifested through several elegant paintings incorporated upon the iron harp and exterior cabinet.

The piano is made of Rosewood and is of the Empire style. These early pianos have a very sweet and delicate tone quality, making them ideal for playing period music of Bach, Beethoven, Mozart.
