Gale in 1847, making it a rare pre-Civil war piece.  The instrument is made of stunning Brazilian Rosewood and is of the classic Empire Revival Style with large, heavy legs and ornately carved pedals and music rack.  Note the elegantly carved corner trusses, an unusual feature on the otherwise simplistic Empire Revival style.

This piano will be restored to like new condition inside and out.  These square pianos have aa lovely harp-like tone quality that makes them quite desirable among early music lovers.
