This wonderful square piano was built by Chickering of Boston during the Civil War. Chickering was the first piano manufacturer in America, established in 1823 and is said to have built the finest pianos in the world. Long before names such as Steinway, etc., Chickering held top awards world wide for piano design and manufacturing. This piano has been internally restored and refinished to like new condition. Note the elaborate carvings on the legs and music rack, as well as the ornate casting in the metal harp inside. The delicate "harp like" tone of these square pianos is truly one of the loveliest sounds one can experience. An original matching stool is included.
