Description
This is an exquisite “Quarter Grand” model baby grand piano built by the famous Chickering Piano Company in 1905. It has beautifully carved French Provincial legs which are complimented by carved scalloping on the edges of the case. It also has a beautifully carved music rack and pedal lyre. The Quarter Grand model was designed as a small size grand piano with modest dimensions. Although it has a full 88 note keyboard and is a full-size piano in every way, it has narrow dimension and an overall petite appearance. These pianos are an average of 3 to 5 inches more narrow than conventional baby grand pianos, but the tone quality is comparable to much larger instruments. The instrument is finished in red mahogany, and has an overall elegant and petite appearance. A matching French Provincial piano bench is included. Computerized player mechanisms can be installed if desired.
