DEPOSITS: The restoration of this instrument has not been completed. A 30% deposit is required on instruments pending restoration. This deposit holds the instrument and keeps it from being offered to another clients, and it also makes that piano's restoration a priority. Once we complete the restoration, we invite the client to visit our shop to see and hear the piano. If the client is unable to visit our shop, we will send professional photos and videos of the piano for review. The client then has the option of paying the balance and purchasing the piano, transferring their balance to another piano in our shop, or getting a full refund for their deposit. The client is never at risk.

DESCRIPTION

This lovely piano is an Apollo Apartment Size baby grand piano which was designed for small homes and apartments of the early 20th Century. Apollo pianos were known for offering a high-quality sound in a smaller instrument.

This piano is made of beautiful walnut wood and is of the curved-leg French Provincial style.  During the ‘teens and ‘twenties, America saw a huge revival in historic period furniture styles. In turn, finer piano manufacturers offered carved pianos which reflected these historic styles. This French Provincial curved-leg style was one of the most popular of these historical styles. The French Provincial style remains quite popular in fine furniture today.

This piano was built in 1932 during the height of the Great Depression. A name-brand baby grand piano like this one would have been quite expensive in 1932. The original buyer would have likely gone to some sacrifice to afford such an expensive luxury during the Great Depression!

The piano is being restored to perfection, inside and out, and will rival the tone and touch of better quality grand pianos built today. If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation computerized player system, allowing the piano to play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc. This system has over 10,000 songs available in its music library!

A matching piano bench is included.
