Description
Rare Antisell square grand piano with Mother of Pearl inlay
Thomas Antisell originally started his firm in San Fransicso, CA. Antisell’s immediate success allowed him to soon establish a second factory in New York, making Antisell one of the only American firms with factories in both New York and California.
This beautiful piano is a classic American square grand piano made in the carved Rococo Victorian style. This piano is a later model, circa 1888, and boasts a full 88-note keyboard. Note the beautifully detailed Mother of Pearl inlay across the front of the case directly above the keyboard; only the higher-grade, more expensive models were adorned with such elaborate decoration.
This piano will be restored to like-new condition, inside and out. Once restored, it will have a soft “harp-like” tone quality which is quite beautiful to listen to. Computerized player mechanisms can be installed in this piano if desired, allowing the piano to play wirelessly from an iPad, computer or smartphone. Thousands of song titles are available!
