Description
Beautiful Pre-Civil War Square Grand Piano By Albert W. Ladd, Boston
The firm of Albert W. Ladd was one of Boston’s finer piano manufacturers. During the mid 19th Century, the firm offered one of the largest varieties of square grand pianos available from one single manufacturer, however, their instruments are exceedingly rare today.
This piano was one of the highest-grade, most expensive pianos built by Albert Ladd. The piano is made of Brazilian Rosewood and is of the Rococo Victorian style. Note the extensively carved cabinet and elaborately painted artwork on the piano harp; only the highest grade, most expensive pianos received this level of detail and decoration.
This piano has been restored and sounds and plays like the day it was built. The original matching piano stool is included.
