Description
Beautiful Rococo Style Gibbons & Stone Square Grand Piano
This is a lovely and rare square grand piano built by the Gibbons & Stone Piano Company of Rochester, NY just after the Civil War. This piano is one of their larger and more expensive models with boasts a full 88-note keyboard, a feature rarely found on pianos built prior to 1880. The piano is made of beautifully figured rosewood which will be quite beautiful after restoration. This Rococo Victorian style grand piano features beautifully carved legs, music rack and pedal lyre.
This piano will be restored to like-new condition, inside and out. Unlike the harsh tone so often heard on new pianos, these antique square grand pianos have a softer, “harp-like” sound quality which is very pleasing to the ear. If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc. More than 10,000 song titles are available!
