Treat & Linsley
John L. Treat and Nelson Linsley established their firm of “Treat & Linsley” in 1856. The firm is listed at 21 Chestnut Street and a factory located on Franklin Street in New Haven, CT. Treat & Linsley built melodeons and small organs and were very successful. In 1864 Nelson Linsley withdrew and was replaced by Mr. Davis and the firm was reorganized as “Treat & Davis” for a very short time. That same year the factory burned, and Linsley bought back his interest in the firm from Davis. A new factory was established at Chapel & Chestnut Streets, New Haven. Treat & Linsley sold out to Bernard Shoninger in 1865.
