Ilsley, Ferdinand I. & Company
The firm of F. I. Ilsley & Company was established in Albany, New York in about 1848. The firm consisted of Ferdinand I. Ilsley and his brother (presumably) George F. Ilsley. By about 1860, the firm had moved to 286 Bowery Street in New York City, moving again to 430 Broome Street, New York City, in 1862. F. L. Ilsley was known for building very good quality square grand pianos, and they also retailed pianos by other manufacturers as well. There is no mention of F. I. Ilsley & Company after about 1865, indicating that the firm was out of business well before 1870.
