Boston Piano Company
The Boston Piano Company (not to be confused with the modern Boston Piano built by Steinway & Kawai) was a smaller scale manufacturer of pianos in Boston during the late 19th and early 20th Century period. The Boston Piano Company was controlled by Mr. E. Wilson who operated as “E. Wilson & Company, Proprietors”. There isn’t very much information about this firm in our archives, but we have had the opportunity to rebuild a handful of pianos by this firm, both of which were very well made instruments. The square pianos we’ve seen from this firm had a very beautiful rosewood grain which was a bit more lavish that most. The early 20th Century upright and grand pianos we’ve seen from this firm were also examples of very good craftsmanship. It seems that The Boston Piano Company was out of business before the Great Depression.
