DESCRIPTION

This is an exceedingly rare Strohmenger Art-Deco style baby grand piano built in 1938. Based on ongoing research, it appears that this piano is one of only 300 made, and one of only a handful we know of made of rare white walnut burl with Makassar ebony accents. It is a small piano (four foot two inches) making it perfect for the bedroom or urban apartment. The instrument is a strikingly beautiful symmetrical grand shape with the lid opening from the back rather than from the side like most conventional baby grand pianos.

Despite its small size, this lovely little piano has a large powerful tone which will surprise you. The instrument was restored in the 1990s by a prominent piano museum, and today it is a fully functional instrument of real performance quality.

This is the first piano of its kind that we have been able to offer in 25 years of collecting rare instruments, indicating the extreme rarity of these Art Deco Strohmenger baby grand pianos.

If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc.
