DESCRIPTION

The Knabe name was first established in Baltimore in 1839 and quickly became one of the most famous piano makers in America. The Knabe brand name is still being produced today, making it one of the longest running American piano brand names in American history.
This lovely upright piano was built by Knabe in 1886. Although the piano is a Victorian era upright, the cabinet is beautifully simplistic and elegant without a lot of excessive carving and frills. The instrument is made of richly figured Brazilian Rosewood which gives the instrument an overall formal appearance. The sound quality of this piano is exceptional and is what one would expect from a classic Knabe upright piano.
The instrument is being restored to like-new condition, inside and out. Computerized player mechanisms can be installed if desired.
