DESCRIPTION

This piano is a classic example of the beautifully carved late Victorian style from the turn-of-the-century. It was built by the Franklin Piano Company of New York. Franklin built pianos from 1900-1933, one of the many American piano companies that went under during the Great Depression. Inside this piano is a portrait of Benjamin Franklin which is amazingly well preserved. Apparently the Franklin Piano Company used this portrait as their trade-mark, adding a touch of unique character to their pianos. This piano was painted YELLOW by its previous owner! It is made of beautiful red mahogany, and will be exquisite when restored. An original antique stool is included. This piano can be fitted with a computerized player mechanism if desired.
