DEPOSITS: The restoration of this instrument has not been completed. A 30% deposit is required on instruments pending restoration. This deposit holds the instrument and keeps it from being offered to another clients, and it also makes that piano's restoration a priority. Once we complete the restoration, we invite the client to visit our shop to see and hear the piano. If the client is unable to visit our shop, we will send professional photos and videos of the piano for review. The client then has the option of paying the balance and purchasing the piano, transferring their balance to another piano in our shop, or getting a full refund for their deposit. The client is never at risk.

DESCRIPTION

This is a lovely square piano by the J. B. Dunham Piano Company of New York. Dunham was a major manufacturer in New York City during the early to middle 19th Century, and his pianos are of very good quality and craftsmanship.This lovely piano is made of a lovely grain Brazilian Rosewood and is of the Empire Revival style. Note the lovely carved Gothic-influienced panels on either side of the keyboard. This piano was built in 1864, right at the height of the Civil War in America. It is facinating to think about what was happening in American Society while this piano was being built and sold to it's original owners!This piano is being restored to like new condition, inside and out, When restoration is complete, it will have a lovely harp-like tone quality suitable for early music.
If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc.
A matching antique piano stool is included.
