Instrument Description
This piano was built by the famous Gulbransen Piano Company of Chicago in 1925, and is made of mahogany wood. When you sit at the piano, the music rack has doors that slide open to expose the music roll. The pumping pedals swing down from underneath the piano for playing the piano automatically. When not being used as a player piano, the player piano mechanisms can be stowed away and the piano used as a regular baby grand! Attached here is a vintage ad from Gulbransen showing this piano being sold in 1925 for $1,275, the cost of a small house! This piano will be restored to like new condition, and an original matching bench is included.
