Instrument Description

Schiller pianos were built by the famous Cable Piano Company of Chicago, and they built very well made, expensive pianos from about 1892-1957. This piano was built right at the beginning of the Great Depression, a time that only a wealthy few could afford this kind of luxury. One can only imagine the kind of life this piano has seen! Note the beautifully carved Louis XV legs, pedals, and molding. This piano is a bit larger than most of our Louis XV pianos, measuring 5’10” long. The previous owner of this piano painted it brilliant gold, but there is beautiful Circassian English Walnut hidden under the paint. This piano will be stunning after restoration. The tone and touch of this piano will rival any quality new baby grand piano. An original matching Louis XV bench is included. Computerized player mechanisms can be installed if desired.
