description

This is one of the most impressive and uniquely designed upright pianos ever produced in America.   Built by the illustrious firm of Strich & Zeidler, this piano was sold as the “Roman Model G” upright.  The “Roman Model G” was the highest grade, most expensive piano in the Strich & Zeidler line, and it was one of the most expensive upright pianos money could buy.  The “Roman Model G” upright was so impressive that it was designated as the “Official New York State Piano”!

Because the “Roman Model G” was so expensive, only a wealthy few could afford such a luxury.  As a result, this model is exceedingly rare today.

This piano is a very large, full size "upright grand" piano, and would please the most discriminating musician.  Not only is it a superb quality instrument, but the cabinet detail is quite beautiful as well.  Note the beautifully embossed panels depicting Roman scenes with amazing detail and the unusually large carved pillars, trusses and legs.  Also note the ornate sterling silver key cover handle and keyhole escutcheon.   This instrument is overall a large and handsome instrument which makes quite a statement in person.

If desired, this piano can be equipped with the Pianomation player system, and can play by itself by streaming music live on an iPod, computer, iPad, etc.

An original matching piano stool is included.
