After the turn of the 20th Century, the massively carved pianos of the Victorian era yielded way for smaller, more formal looking pianos like this early 20th Century Bush & Gerts baby grand. Bush & Gerts was one of Chicago’s premier piano builders, and they built high quality, expensive pianos from 1885-1942. This piano is made of beautifully carved mahogany wood, and is in the Louis XV style cabinet with elegant legs, moldings, and scalloping around the cabinet. These carved pianos were the highest grade, most expensive pianos that makers produced. Because of their high prices, they were not sold in huge quantities. As a result, they are exceedingly rare today. This piano will be restored and refinished to like new condition. It can be fitted with a computerized player mechanism if desired. A matching Louis XV style bench is included.
