description

This beautiful square piano was built by Chickering of Boston during the Civil War. Chickering was the first piano manufacturer in America, established in 1823, and their pianos are known to be some of the finest pianos built in American history. This piano is made of Brazilian Rosewood, and is of the massive Empire Revival style. Note the octagon legs and clean, simple lines, all hallmarks of this classic style. This piano is being restored to like-new condition inside and out. It has an incredible sound, with tremendous power and volume. Computerized player mechanisms can be installed if desired.
