Instrument Description
This piano was built by the Bernard Shoninger Piano Company of New Haven, CT, in 1910. B. Shoninger built high quality, expensive pianos from 1850-1929, one of the many American piano companies to go under with the great depression. According to its original turn-of-the-century sales catalog, (see photos), this piano was sold as the “Colonial Cabinet Grand Model”.
This Shoninger piano was painted yellow by its previous owner, but underneath the yellow paint it has beautiful red mahogany wood which will be stunning after restoration. The overall look of this mahogany piano will be very formal and elegant. This piano comes with a matching stool, and can be equipped with computerized player mechanisms if desired.
