Instrument Description

This beautiful Parlor Grand Piano was built in New York by Decker Brothers Piano Company at the last part of the 19th Century. It is made of lavishly carved Brazilian Rosewood, and has a beautifully mellow, warm tone typical of Decker Brothers pianos. Decker Brothers was one of the most advanced and progressive piano manufacturers of the 19th Century, and their instruments are of superior quality. This piano is unusual because it such a small size for a Victorian piano. It measures only 5'7" long. Victorian grand pianos rarely came under 6'4" in length, making this piano an ideal candidate for a smaller space where a Victorian piano is desired. It has been restored to perfection inside and out, and is just as it was the day it left the factory over a century ago. A matching stool is included. This piano can be equipped with a computerized player mechanism if desired.
