Van Riper, James
James Van Riper was a small scale manufacturer of square grand pianos in New York between the years of 1854-1865. His factory was located at 178 Wooster Street, New York City. Van Riper hand made his instruments, many of which were custom made on order. His instruments were of superb quality, and were often made of exotic and elaborate woods and inlays. Instruments by Van Riper are exceedingly rare today, and are definitely of museum caliber. They deserve the finest restoration available.
