Melodigrand

The “Melodigrand” piano brand was manufactured by The Henry & S. G. Lindeman Piano Company of New York.  “Melodigrand” was a line of upright pianos, grand pianos and player pianos which were offered as an affordable alternative to the costlier Lindeman brand name while offering comparable quality.

By the mid 1920s, Lindeman was absorbed into the United Piano Corporation and the “Melodigrand” brand name was taken over by The Winter Piano Company of New York.  After the Great Depression, Winter introduced a short-keyboard spinet piano built under the “Melodigrand” brand name.

Both Winter and “Melodigrand” were ultimately absorbed into the large Aeolian-American Corporation. Both Winter and Aeolian went out of business in 1985.
