The Madison Piano Company was a division of the large Krakauer Piano Company of New York. Although Krakauer incorporated Madison in about 1917, they built pianos with the Madison name for several years prior. After the 1930's, most spinet and upright Madison instruments were built by Winter & Co. and their grands were built by the Lester Piano Company. The most popular model of piano by Madison was their petite spinet piano that was produced by Winter & Co. during the World War 2 era.
