Hastings, W. P.
The firm of W. P. Hastings was active in piano, organ and melodeon manufacturing & retail during the mid to late 19th Century. Founded by W. P. Hastings in Portland, Maine, the firm built higher quality instruments on a very small scale compared to most other manufacturers. Their warerooms and manufactory was located at 89 Federal Street, and they offered instruments by several other makers in addition to their own “W. P. Hastings” brand instruments. Very little information is listed about this firm in our archives, but it does appear that they were out of business well before the turn of the 20th Century.  Surviving instruments by Hastings are of consistently good quality.
